Re: EPS: "Level 4.5" - Whole House Automatic (AIO)

Thank you for your patience, Dave. I had failed to look closely at Peeshow's diagram and spot it is TT rather than TN-C-S ! I quite get your point and for me (who has older TN-S) I will need a 4pole version of the ATS, which as I look online is also available in similar units. I will continue my ...

Re: EPS: "Level 4.5" - Whole House Automatic (AIO)

Hi Guys - I found this post very helpful in pinning down the issues for my plans to implement EPS. I may be being dumb but is there a flaw to using an existing low cost solution in the form of 3pole ATSs being offered from China etc e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315276963374 Can't 2 poles be used ...

Re: Meter at a distance

Hi David and Calum, My garage is 50m from the CU in the house and has its own sufficient supply with a local CU. I foresaw the same problem and checked the max distance to hardwire a CT, which I think is v. long and certainly my setup works well with the inverter close to the garage CU and connected ...

Re: Advice on bug in recent change to FoxESS app

Thank you for the confirmation, Calum. I do now have a working RS485 connection and aim to take the plunge into the intricacies of HA soon.
I guess I was hoping for the odd simple command on the RS 485 port to save myself dealing with the rest.

Kind Regards

Hi Phil Can you provide details of your equipment and how long since installlation ? If possible, can you confirm the firmware release in your inverter and your battery management system (BMS). They are at the bottom of the list in your Version details which is the 4th option (tab) on your device ...

Advice on bug in recent change to FoxESS app

Hi there, for about the last week there has been a bug in the web based app which is annoying and I hope someone can point me in the right direction to get it fixed. It is the switch offered to allow the work mode to be changed remotely from "Self Use" to "Feed-in". It used to be at about 4 o'clock ...

Re: Firmware Concerns on new system

I needed help twice back in December after an installation in Nov by an installer who couln't answer any of my queries (mostly caused by low temperatures whose effects my installer didn't understand). Each time I phoned the main FoxESS no. and was advised I'd get a call back from a technician, which ...

Re: Thinking of going to Octopus Flux

Just to add my thoughts on Octopus Flux having been on it since mid March - I have a similar system to aardnebby but a bit bigger: a) there are clearly more choices to make on a daily basis, esp if the time of day of our consumption varies, and in the summer it will be very different from wintertime ...

Re: Is it too early in the year to expect full output from my panels?

Hi Mark, The work mode can be set laboriously on the inverter panel - see Will's good Youtube presentation on all the settings. I use the web-based access to the cloud server and it is easy, once you find an odd little blue icon on the bottom right of the Inverter mimic in the Energy Flow diagram ...

Dave Foster addressed this problem last month (Apr 20th) in a series of posts about cabling up for RS485 which is on the same connector on the H1 inverters. Here's a link to the thread but you'll need to scroll down to around Apr 20th. https://foxesscommunity.com/viewtopic.php?p=1016 Make sure you ...

Hi All, Unless I have it wrong, there are 2 aspects to this question. Currently, I can stop the solar PV being used to charge the battery during peak Flux hours in the afternoon by selecting the "Feedin" option on the website control, and indeed it uses the same password as for the website (and app ...

Hi Steve, I have done something similar to you, though only adding one battery - otherwise I have limited knowledge. Thank you very much, Dave, for your persistence on this one. I have tried your query string and then with a count of 1, both of which elicited the same response. So you can see the version of modpoll and all the rest, here is the precise exchange: ….\modpoll\win>modpoll.exe -m tcp -p 502 -a 247 -t 3 ...

Yes, Dave. Thanks for the feedback - it encourages me that I am on the right track. I have double checked the IP address - it also pings correctly across the network and I also did a separate check of asking modpoll.exe to poll an IP address either side of the inverter's and got an "unreachable ...

Re: Simple Query - switching to wired ethernet from Wifi

Thank you, Calum I could see just about everywhere is silent on the question so I did wonder. Strange to call the port "ethernet" but not use it for conventional wired networks. I note too that the settings menu has "Ethernet" but the only option I see is "DHCP" which again made me wonder about ...

Simple Query - switching to wired ethernet from Wifi

I have been trying to find out how I can change my present Wifi link to the Fox cloud to a wired ethernet. My reason is that my system being 50m from the house used an extra router to reach it with Wifi and it has proved unreliable. I now have a wired arrangement to get close to the inverter but I ...

HV2600 or MIRA 25 ?

Here's a challenging question if anyone knows the answer ! My installer, it now turns out, picked up 2x MIRA 25s for my install last year in place of the HV2600s, he had quoted. He's now offering to replace the 2 batteries and the BMS or give me an extra MIRA 25 because I was concerned about my poor ...
