Re: FoxESS to Home Assistant Integration Options (H1/AC1&AIO)

Would it be possible to recommend foxess_modbus instead of ha-foxess-modbus, and avoid recommending the USR-W610?

Re: Octopus Flux & Inverter Work Mode

You need an agent or installer account, or you can set it if you've set up an RS485 connection to your inverter.

Re: Octopus Flux & Inverter Work Mode

In backup, the inverter prioritises charging the battery over supplying the house. We're not sure what the others are, but they don't seem to be supported currently. I'm also on flux, and I'm experimenting with putting the inverter into Feed-in first over the 4-7 peak period, although I'll probably ...

There's a new experimental option for foxess_modbus under "CONFIGURE" to round and filter sensors slightly, which should help a lot with database size issues.

Re: H3 Inverter & ModBus help

Oh great! I'd be interested in adding F5000 support to the integration, but I'll need a bunch of back and forth with someone who has one to figure out what registers are available, both over RS485 and a direct ethernet connection (if the F5000 has one). That mainly consists of using modpoll to manua...

Foxess are doing various bits of maintenance for the next week or so. The cloud bit is going down fairly frequently at the moment

Re: Webserver?

No, there is no built in webserver. I'm not sure where you heard that?

It just sends data to foxcloud, and exposes data over the RS485 and ethernet connectors.

Re: H3 Inverter & ModBus help

I've just created a new pre-release of Nathan's integration which (in theory) adds support for H3 inverters. Although I don't have one to test against, so I'm relying on people trying it out and reporting issues.

Please give it a shot, and let me know on github if you hit any problems.

Re: H3 Inverter & ModBus help

I would definitely put the 410s as close to the inverters as possible - while RS485 can in theory run long distances, you can be certain that ethernet will be fine, whereas you might have occasional noise issues with a long run of RS485. Just buy a cheap crimping kit on amazon if you don't want the ...

Re: H3 Inverter & ModBus help

See https://github.com/nathanmarlor/foxess_modbus/wiki/Modbus-Wiring-Guide. (The page you linked on StealthChesnut's wiki has similar instructions). The usb socket is for firmware upgrades only, which is why it's getting confused when you connect a USB device to it. You need to connect the RS-485 A ...

I use https://github.com/BottlecapDave/HomeAs ... opusEnergy. That's got a sensor with which exposes the current electricity price, and the energy dashboard has an option to use a sensor with the current price.

Here’s a couple of shots of the connector, the tool and how it pushes the tangs you can see inwards (you can use flat blade screwdrivers) and the final disassembly. Click on the pictures and they will rotate to correct orientation IMG_7769.jpeg IMG_7767.jpeg IMG_7768.jpeg Hope that helps ! Mind if ...
