Re: Battery discharging ...not sure why
I don't think that's correct, outside of your off peak rate with octopus go you will be on peak rate. so if you dip into power in the evening you will be charged peak rate.

Hi Dave,
Thats incredibly helpful. Will keep an eye on things and accept it may take time to settle.
Best wishes
Belinda
If you have any heavy loads where you can control when they run, the other thing worth considering is switching to Octopus Go. The tariff has a longer "off peak" period and ...

Re: Battery Upgrades and Warranty
Regarding battery pack expansions, DIY versus professional, has anybody had quotes from installers for doing this? A couple of the battery retailers seem to offer installation, but without a ballpark figure. This would be after a year or so, so I don't want to ask them to quote right now.
I ...

Thanks again Dave. Hopefully the VAT savings will offset the install costs. I will call them to see what they say.

Re: Battery Upgrades and Warranty
Thanks Dave,
You are right in that if installation costs are reasonable, it may be worth following the route for peace of mind.
You mention Zero VAT. All the adds I have seen include VAT and when I tried to check the VAT status, I saw something implying batteries were excluded. If getting the ...

Battery Upgrades and Warranty
Hi,
I have recently had a solar and battery install. (6kw solar, Fox inverter and Fox 8.2kwh battery). It all works fine so no problems there.
With the onset of winter, I can see that on overcast days, the solar panels will not always fully charge the battery during the day. To date, if my partner ...

Re: Some questions around using schedules
Thanks Dave - I discovered that the 'old' charge periods weren't compatible with schedules shortly after posting. As soon as as I enabled the schedule, the 'old' charge data was cleared and I couldn't enter any new data. Thanks for clarifying what the default mode is when a time period is not ...

Re: Inverter Self-Power consumption / efficiency
Hi All,
I have just had a new installation and noticed the 'discrepancy' between the numbers shown on the app suggesting the inverter was consuming a significant amount of power. After reporting it to Solar Power they agreed to send out an engineer to check everything over. For the rest of the day I ...
