Can I ask anyone who reads this thread and has a timed tariff to check if this offset is a general issue?

I am still waiting to hear back from Octopus Energy.

Just as an example, I have calculated if I had a 7kW load to start at 0130 every night, the 10 minute offset would cost me about £128 a year. I know that is an extreme example as I don't think I would draw 7kW every night, but it could add up ...

This I recorded this morning, showing the changeover from Off Peak to Peak rate at 0840. I am waiting to see if Octopus can explain why the offset is there. I am not sure if makes much difference to the billing?

BTW the meter is still showing the old tariff, not the rate it should have been since ...

Thanks for the reply and the link to the Octopus FAQ. I haven't seen that before, so Economy 7 should be 0030-0730 in the winter and 0130-0830 on BST?

I have actually watched the Smart meter (not the IHD) change rates from off peak to peak and in my case it is 0140-0840 on BST. It is such an odd ...

See a photo of the IHD showing the off peak rate at 0818 this morning. According to Octopus that should have changed to the peak rate at 0730. The tariff is also showing the "old" rate not the lower one that came into force today.

Yes the Smart meter (Landis & Gyr) is showing the correct date and time.

I have an Economy 7 tariff with Octopus Energy. I also have an export tariff.

Octopus insist that the off peak hours are 0030-0730, but my meter changes to off peak at 0140-0840 now we are on BST. When not on BST it is 0040-0740.

Because we have solar and batteries, we use very little peak rate ...

So, since the installation in 2024, have I being doing it wrong just using the Grid Charge during off peak hours?

How does Force Charge work compared to Grid Charge? I don't want the batteries to be used until the Peak rate starts, so I thought selecting Grid charge from 0030-0730 would block ...

That makes sense. I was a little concerned when you said your battery SOH was 100% and mine was 94%. So nothing to be too worried about then?

If it doesn't harm the battery with a lower SOC, then I could alter that.

The way we use the system at the moment, the batteries (and solar, when we get sun!!) keep the house supplied during the peak power period (0730-0030) and very rarely use the grid. The batteries seem to stay above 20%.

The Fox Hybrid Inverter is H1-5-0-EG2 rated at 5kW import and export.

The 12 solar panels are rated at 445W each with optimisers.
