Re: KH10.5 Latest firmware version
Hi Dave, haven't been on for a while, so I thought I would catch up. Then realised I hadn't updated anything since I installed the system. My versions are: Master 1.16 Slave 1.01 Comms 1.11 How do I go about getting these updated? Bearing in mind, I only know 3 things about solar: what the panels ...

Re: Draw from grid
So the way fox have developed their on grid inverters is so that it's grid synchronised. If you turn on a high load like an oven or kettle it would make LED lights flicker until the battery catches up with the new house demand. With the inverter always pulling 20-40watts its able to perfectly ...

Re: Draw from grid
I can sort of understand why its done though. I can switch the grid off altogether if i wanted to and not have that slight draw. Which is obviously the end goal. If i did have a power cut, which i simulated when i first set this up, it switches straight to EPS. As i have my whole house powered by ...

Re: Draw from grid
I cant remember the reason why he said they were stopping the 41s. He was giving so much info, its difficult to remember everything he said! He seemed to be quite excited about talking batteries! lol! But it was nice to hear someone that obviously loves the job he is in. I know he said there wasnt a ...

Re: Draw from grid
Morning Dave, yes, its certainly a bit of a beast! Thanks for the explanation of the lights. The fox manual is great for installing and getting it running, but woefully inadequate when trying to find out what each setting does or what the lights mean! I guess this is where solar experience comes in ...

Re: Draw from grid
Hi Callum, the lights are all green. Flashing maybe once a second. All the lights on the master, are solid green as its fully charged, except the one at the bottom marked "slave", which is flashing. The light marked "master" is always solid. If a solid light means fully charged then why are the ...

Draw from grid
Hello everyone. Just installed a 10.5kh, 1 x 4300 master and 2 x 4300 slave. What a brilliant system! Absolutely towers over my old solis and lv5200 batteries! I cant believe the difference. It draws much more from the same panels (struggled to hit 3kw even in middle of summer yet over the last few ...

Thank you Dave, that's a relief! The DC goes through an isolator but i will go and do as you suggest as well, just to be on the safe side. Cheers

Panels left disconnected
Good evening everyone, i am in the middle of dismantling my system. Its been sold and the buyer is sending a courier tomorrow to pick it up. My KH10.5 and cube are on the way! :D My concern is leaving the panels disconnected from an inverter for maybe 2 weeks. Will they be ok as long as its not ...

Thats great. Thank you DaveDave Foster wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 3:51 pm Yes there is a System menu that shows you the status of battery, PV, Grid, Temp and also a History menu that has the Inverter Yield which shows your PV, Grid, Charge/Discharge and Export totals for the day (and since install).

screen on KH
Good morning all, I am waiting for delivery of a 10.5KH. Can i ask, does the screen on the front have an "information" setting to go into? On my solis, i have an information button that tells me how much solar is being generated, the load, the SOC of the batteries, current, voltage of panels etc. I ...

Re: KH should I update?
Yes, it began working again quickly. Each side of the consumer unit (the whole unit is on the EPS output) has an 80A RCD. Probably just a fluke. I am about to upgrade to the 10.5KH. My solis hybrid 6kw, trips the RCCB on the socket side of my CB nearly every time it fires up. Just had a look, its ...

On grid connector
Hello everyone, just ordered my 10.5kh and 4 2900 cubes. In the Fox manual, it shows that there is a connector to be fitted to the AC input cable and the EPS cable. They look the same as the ones i had to use for my solis inverter. I am hoping fox and solis use the same plugs, as it would make ...

Re: Version 1 and 2
Hi, thanks for the reply. I have asked my supplier for V2 as i couldnt find many V1 around. I noticed they have now got an A or B connector as well! Why on Earth would you add another connector into the mix? As if it isnt a minefield already! It probably doesn't matter in the long run as whichever i ...

Re: Individual control of slaves
there are very good reasons why we wont have anything wifi connected. I am...curious. Care to expand? Hi Calum, mainly health reasons. The man made frequencies are highly destructive. To all life, including plant life. Natural frequencies are everything. Its how nature works. Without going too deep ...

Re: Individual control of slaves
You can’t connect directly between your pc to the inverter, but you don’t need to rely on apps, you can view everything from your inverter on the foxcloud website at your pc. The inverter usually comes with a wifi data logger but you can get a LAN version of it as you mentioned, and if the cable run ...

Re: Individual control of slaves
Thanks. I will need all the luck i can get! lol! Is it alright to just highjack this thread for something else? Just need a yes or no, really, to a question. A thought struck me about the fox cloud. This might be a dealbreaker, on whether i go back to getting a sunsynk or not! We dont do wifi here ...

Version 1 and 2
Hi, i am reading a lot about the 2 versions of the cube batteries. It says there is no real difference, just a diode shortage caused a change with what was being used. But in practice, what could potentially be the problem with using either version? It would obviously be better to use the same ...

Re: Individual control of slaves
I understand, thank you. The 6kw solis and 2 lv5200s turned out to be a mistake, but neither the seller nor I could have predicted it. I now need to make sure that the KH and a cube is exactly what we need for how we want to use solar. Dave Foster has helped me a lot and actually stopped me buying ...

Re: Individual control of slaves
Hi Calum, I didnt think it was a particularly good idea when i first did it but lack of knowledge meant i didnt want to start changing things in the settings! I have only had it for 15 months and last winter i just shut everything down and took solely from grid. Hopefully by next winter, i will have ...

Good morning Dave, "it’s quite the minefield and you don’t know what questions to ask until you’ve had experience of it." That is exactly it, in all walks of life. You dont know until you know! If i had known my solis would shut down on a regular basis, i could have done things differently. You live ...

Individual control of slaves
Good evening all, i have plans to buy a KH 10.5 and 1 x master 2.9kw and 4 x slave 2.9kw. My EPS on my solis supplies the whole house. That means during the winter, i dont produce enough power to keep 1 of my lv5200s topped up, let alone 2. In winter, i am practically on grid all the time. So, i ...

Re: CHARGE/DISCHARGE SETTINGS
I think i must have misunderstood what was being said in relation to the charge and discharge of the batteries. It was actually lv5200s and a sunsynk inverter. I should not have got involved with it, i knew i would end up confusing myself! Haha! The more i look into low and high voltage batteries ...
