Thanks Dave. I think I’ll just revert to the original settings because they work and it avoids any cost.
I can see though that if you need a fully charged car every day for a commute then your options would need to be considered! Thanks

Intelligent Octopus and Ohme Pro price cap setting
Batteries drained this morning by charging the EV, an unintended consequence of removing the Ohme Pro price cap. Anyone else has this? So.. previous setup (which I’ll probably revert back to):- IO smart charging via Ohme. Price cap set at 7.5p. IO send the smart charge schedule to charge the car b ...

Re: Mobile app - login has expired
I hope they don’t fix it because it seems that whilst the Fox app is broken the Energy Stats app is working again during the daytime!!

Re: Energy Stats App failing to load data - Error message
Any update on a resolution for this yet? ES app is extremely flaky and even the Fox app is having a few issues loading data every five mins. It feels as though since they have introduced the API requirement that their servers are not sized correctly to handle the load and they are prioritising Fox ...

API Key is obfuscated??
Energy Stats is requesting a new API key, however when I generate a new key in the Fox website it is obfuscated so I can’t copy it to Energy Stats.
Any way around this? Thx

Re: Expected PV power in winter sun?
Definitely sounds fishy to me. Even in the middle of winter, my 6.24 kWp array with 5 kWp Inverter produced about 350 kWh over January (11 kWh per day), and kept my overall energy bill down by about 3/4 (on Octopus Agile import, fixed 15p kWh export) of what the electricity bill would have been ...

Re: Battery draining overnight
What battery capacity do you have? What percentage of charge is in the battery when you go to bed?
Trying to understand if you are losing a lot of charge overnight or some charge (which as Dave points out is normal).

Re: FoxCloud v2 observations
I’m not sure if it’s related to the API update a few weeks ago but I’m finding that both the Fox v2 app and the Energy Stats app are a little clunky in the connection now. I.e. the data doesn’t always refresh after five mins.. sort of have to go in and out of the apps to refresh it and even then some ...

Re: API update
Also just as a quick update, the latest release of the FoxESS V2 app is now (finally) showing total solar (PV Yield) on the ‘plant’ screen (the house picture) at the bottom of the screen. Thanks for the update Dave. Do you know if the Fox value is using realtime data for the new daily PV Yield or if ...

Re: API update
I may have found a small bug in the updated Energy Stats app. When the solar is putting power back into the battery the value used to be green. When taking power from the battery the power is depicted as red. Now it appears that the value is depicted as red regardless of topping up or discharging ...

Re: API update
As always thanks for the updates Dave. Slightly off topic (or is it?), do you know why the Fox app doesn’t have an accurate daily PV generation value on the Home Screen (like Energy Stats) as it’s probably the single most basic value a user looks for. It seems such an obvious gap in functionality. Ha ...

Re: API update
Completely agree.
It wouldn’t be so bad if Fox provided a good app themselves with the data that users are looking for in a clear and concise manner. But they don’t.

Re: Expected PV power in winter sun?
I believe it was just string configuration. I think the optimisers (one in every panel) in the single string of 8 was just not working for whatever reason. To put it into perspective… previous daily PV total yield was approx 1Kwh but usually closer to 0.5-0.7Kwh (using Energy Stats data) for the w ...

Re: Expected PV power in winter sun?
I owe the community an update on this.
The installer came back and reconfigured the panels as two strings of four and this has made a big improvement. In summary it appears to be resolved now and generation is looking much better!

Could it be an immersion heater on timer that you are not aware of? They are 3Kw per hour so that could easily match the numbers you are seeing.

Re: Expected PV power in winter sun?
Thanks Dave. So my amps didn’t exceed 1.0 amps today and 0.7 yesterday. The inspector says that points to an issue somewhere with the circuit (wiring, optimisers) or panel issue.

Re: Expected PV power in winter sun?
So if I log on to Fox Cloud I can see that for today the graph for volts is around 300+.
My PV power is between 0.1 and 0.2Kwh
My PV current is between 0.5 - 1.0 amps.
I assume that’s not normal? What do you guys get for amps?
