Consumption stats
Had the system just under a year. I am pretty confident that contrary to what the Fox app shows, I have not used 345 GWh. (domestic household, not an electric blast furnace!!) Is it just me (installer moved the CT clamp yesterday off the brown wire and onto a different one) or are other peoples ...

Re: My first battery errors
Installer has been round. Now know about the isolator switch
Firmware updated.
More surprising though was moving the clamp off 1 wire and onto another in the opposite direction in the meter box.... will have to keep an eye on what gets reported as sent back to grid next sunny day....

Re: My first battery errors
Thanks - it's the "turn the batteries off" bit thats got me stumped - I've watched a YouTube video about switching off DC then switching off AC and then switching off battery.... but mine look nothing like the video, can't seem to identify where the off button is ! It's not the sodding great silver ...

In the error log : 08:14 Error code 198 Bat Voltage low 08:14 Error code 194 Battery over voltage 08:19 Error code 14 communication fault between battery and device What does it all mean, and how do I get it all working again ? App 2.0 vs Octopus
I guess the very first thing all of us on Octopus did was compare the export/grid consumption figures for last month to see if they matched.... hmmm..... export is near enough right ( 0.21 kwh discrepancy) but grid import Fox is 3 kwh lower. I wonder where the difference is ? Is there a mouse slowly ...

Re: web stats down ?
Yes, no readings since 4.24pm GMT. We've only had the installation for 12 days so bit curious if downtime is a regular thing! Let's put it this way - it's somewhat less robust than Amazon or Google :) December/January they had a few issues where it was down for days, but apart from that not too bad.

Re: Expected PV power in winter sun?
Thanks for the reply. Only had PV panels since end Sept, so still learning :) What was confusing me were all the "helpful" articles on the internet from various installers saying "solar panels work on sunlight not heat, so still generate power in winter" without any kind of qualification that not ...

Re: Expected PV power in winter sun?
Hi, similar question.
Today is a bright sunny day, very close to peak sun.
My nominal 5.9 kw array is producing 3.8 kw.
Is that typical for this time of year, or is something amiss ?
PV1 / PV2 ratio looks about right for the no of panels per string (5 , 8)
No shading, south-facing.

Scheduled maintenance outages
Hi, After seeing yet another instance of the app temporarily not working, it got me thinking - do Fox-ESS publish a list on the internet of scheduled maintenance windows ? It would sure save a lot of aggravation to their customers if we knew in advance that there was eg a server upgrade planned for ...

force charge fluctuations
Noticed an oddity with the Force Charge option over the last few days. Normally with the battery run down to 20%, it started charging at max inverter ( 5Kw) and stayed there until its done. Recently however the first hour approx is only charging at 3Kw , and then it jumps up to 5Kw for the next 2 ...

Real time readings cutting out and showing zero.
Then come back. Then back to zero.
Battery shows zero, even though inverter panel shows 89 % SOC.
And they were charged to 100 % overnight.
Is it Fox-ESS web platform issue ?

... tells you what % of max power you should be generating based on the local weather ? For example today - bright sunshine through hazy sky - only seeing 66% of max rated value. Would be great if there was some sort of "sun index" so that we could tell if its just atmospherics affecting everyone ...

Thanks for that Dave , confirms what I thought.
Only been installed a week, still learning to interpret the numbers.
And to understand why peak sun on some sunny days generates 20% lower than on other sunny days !

Re: Today Yield ?
looks like today's yield = what goes to house from Inverter + what goes to grid from inverter.
ie battery power consumed from battery counts as "todays yield".
