Re: EP11 Firmware

Hi,

I have just had an install and noticed that my firmware is the 1.05 version for my EP11

I have seen that there is no release notes (I checked the spreadsheet and a few posts and could not find anything?!) but does anyone know what the difference between 1.05 and the latest 1.07 is?

Thanks ...

Re: What's best for the battery?

Your daily self discharge rate will change dramatically as the winter draws in which makes it a slightly more complex answer.

In general the batteries will last longer if not being regularly cycled hard but then they will also lose some capacity through ageing, so it's best to use them as ...

Re: My FOX system will not force discharge to grid during Octopus Flux peak evening time in Mode Scheduler

Is your FDPwr really set to 500W or is that a typo ?

The FDPwr setting is the max power the inverter will discharge at but this takes into account house load so for example if your house load was 500W or greater it wouldn’t force discharge at all - you should really set that to your inverters max ...

Re: Fox ESS H3-12 Smart / Modbus

Ok just looking back through open issues and there is a fix for the H3 Smart that is not yet merged into the main file - take a look at this post which discusses the problem https://github.com/nathanmarlor/foxess_modbus/pull/847, if you can manually change the files as mentioned here in this PR and ...

Re: Fox ESS H3-12 Smart / Modbus

It shouldn’t be trying to read those registers if it has correctly detected it as an H3 Smart, but it only does that when it starts up for the first time - if you updated to the latest beta after the first time it started it is probably running on the initial config which will be wrong - try ...

Re: Fox ESS H3-12 Smart / Modbus

Make sure you have installed the v1.13.5b7 beta version as you will need that to support the H3 Smart correctly, in HACS select ‘redownload’, ‘need a different version’ and select the v1.13.5b7 version - restart your HA.

Re: Modbus integration using the usb port

It will yes, if you have set your minsoc to 100% the inverter (BMS) will want to charge at a 5A maintenance setting but if you set the charge limit to 0 it will be limited to zero - so it will neither charge nor discharge (obviously you don't have to use 0 you could set a low value such as 2A which ...

Re: Modbus integration using the usb port

You can change the charge current limit, there is an entity called number.max_charge_current

this in A(mps) and to calculate the charge power you will need to know your battery volts, multiple them together and that will give you the maximum charge power.

If you reduce it to 0 the battery will not ...

Re: FoxCloud app - Recover data after change of Wifi

If the inverter is disconnected from the cloud it cannot send the 5 minute date samples, it can remember a few days of statistics but if you were disconnected for 2 weeks unfortunately the data for that period will be lost.

Re: Help Configuring Inverter Settings

Yes all of that is possible using the scheduler

1) - set a Force charge between 00:00-06:59
2) - during the day leave your inverter in Feedin workmode, your batteries won’t be used (nor charged) and all excess solar over your house load will get exported - the batteries will be used normally once ...

Re: Using battery while exporting Solar

There are many ways to calculate this, and the EP11’s represent the most efficient and cheapest LFP batteries to date from Fox - as you say you have not taken losses in to account, nor the 10% of the batteries you cannot use (but have paid for) perhaps more importantly is at what point would you ...

Re: Modbus integration using the usb port

Hi Dave,

Thanks yes I have the Ohme integration on HA installed - so now I know what to look for.

Where do I need to set the 100% soc - is that in the foxess app or on HA?

You need to set in in HA, there is an entity called number.min_soc_on_grid which can be set in an automation using an ...

Re: system

Hi All.
Just to let you know my system is up and running fine now. It took a lot of time and effort to finally get it sorted.
My installers have been brilliant, they never once said that's how it should work.
They Re-configured the whole system and its doing the job now.
Thanks for all your input ...

Hello Dave,

Sorry to bother you again ...... I have successfully added the modbus connection thanks to your guidance :D
Now I wonder if you are able to help with adding an automation on the modbus to stop my Ohme EV charger draining all the battery power and pull from the grid instead?

Thanks ...

Re: AC1-5.0-E-G2 export allowed or not?

If you already have a solar array fitted that will continue to work as it did before generating power which will firstly cover your house load and then export any unused power.
The AC1 is a battery storage inverter that will make use of that export to charge it’s batteries and the stored energy ...

Musoke wrote: Tue Jun 24, 2025 1:42 pm Hi there,
does any one know anything about the compatibility of EEL batteries?
Thank you in advance!
Musoke
I don’t believe these batteries offer any compatibility as they are 48V low voltage, whereas the Fox inverters are high voltage LifePO4 battery packs

Re: Analysis graphs for inverter

Hi,
Just to add I’m having the same issue on a new install.
Load, Grid and Solar all display fine on the Day graph, but only Solar data appears on the Month or Year graph, despite the key for the graph including all three items.
Hoping someone has some clues of how to fix this🙂

Re: work model feed-in priority with Mode Scheduler

I’m not agile mode expert but i’m pretty sure that you cannot use agile and independent schedules at the same time as they both use the schedule slots to manage the inverter and so one will over-write the other.

Do you have an EV by chance, as it’s much easier to fix your battery charging to the EV ...

Re: Modbus integration using the usb port

It’s a balanced differential pair so you don’t need a ground, just 2 wires - the RS485A (pin 4) goes to the waveshare A connection, and the RS485B (pin 3) goes to the B connection

Yes set the same time period, but leave the ‘Charge from Grid Enabled’ to off - that will stop the batteries from charging and also prevent discharge during the time period you s.

Re: Off peak grid usage - Heat pump and EP11

It's quiet common to set the inverter schedules to work with 'Cozy', in the scheduler you will need to set 3 Force Charger Schedules that align with the Cozy schedules so whenever the tariff is low and your heat pump is on, your batteries will also be charging (and more importantly not discharging ...

Re: New inverter noisy and very hot

Any inverter (not just Fox) when working hard will produce heat, it's a by product in the energy exchange, the whole back of the inverter is a heat exchanger designed to get rid of that heat and it's not that unusual on a very sunny day for the inverter fins to be at 40C or 50C.

Is the Inverter ...
