Re: Inverter ignoring battery
Sorry to say but I think i’ve gone as far as I can - something not stacking up so the best plan now is to raise it with Fox, we really need some remote diagnostics to work out what is going on.

Re: Query data failed
Sorry for the late reply,
I gather that on Friday Fox updated the OpenAPI and it has broken the scheduler which reports 41200 query failed messages (and ES uses OpenAPI) - Fox have been notified about it, we’re just waiting on a resolution now.

Re: Looking to do some scripting, any help?
To be honest, what you are trying to do would be perfect for home assistant - there are already pre-written integrations for the modbus which would provide you with real time data and local control options. There are octopus integrations, but you can also get the api data using rest sensors. You cou...

Re: Mode Scheduler Issues
There have been a few problems with the scheduler as of late - it has to be set equal to or greater than your current minSoC but that looks ok - can I suggest you go to the Fox cloud website, edit and save the template there - hopefully that will work.

Re: Inverter ignoring battery
Your graph shows that it seeing Load correctly, so your CT clamp is corrected measuring. Minsoc’s are ok. Most common cause of blocked discharge is a charge period set with no grid charge i.e. if you are not using the charge periods they must be set to 00:00-00:00. Second most common is using schedu...

Ok, but keep a close eye on it - it might need to be changed for a larger MCB (63A) or RCD value (100mA)martint007 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 8:53 am issues solved, the Grid supply breaker to the Invertor had tripped. All seems to be working with the charge schedule

Re: Mobile App explanation
Dave Thank you so much for your help. The day after the solar was installed Octopus came and installed a smart meter. The guy commented on the work done by the installers and made some modifications when fitting the smart meter. Would he have cause to move or change the CT clamp? Yes he would have ...

Re: Mobile App explanation
If you have a negative load and no external generation - you either have the CT clamp located in the wrong place, or it is orientated the wrong way round. i’m guessing this is a new install - so the best option is to contact your installer and let them know there is a problem with the CT clamp. FYI ...

OpenAPI / Energy Stats - Scheduler
Please note after a recent update (13th September 2024) the OpenAPI (and consequently Energy Stats) are unable to set schedules, they return a 41200 error. Fox ESS dev have been notified this morning, but it needs them to find, it fix it and turn around a solution so it may not work for a week or tw...

Re: h1-6.0-e parallel connection
This is the two inverter to have. Guess is not gen2 Yep that’s an original H1 (generation 1), they don’t do parallel running. Probably a lot of messing but you if you install them in series with a split load (i.e. 2 consumer units) you can get them to work separately without fighting between them. ...

Re: Installation without meter
A standard solution (out of the manual) would recommend you fit a Chint meter at the source as you say as it is wired in pass through for all phases - but if you use the Chint meter with CT's you can break that link and fit remotely. The meter 'hard wired' is more accurate than CT's ( which are typi...

Re: h1-6.0-e parallel connection
Can I just confirm they are H1 G2 (generation 2)?
The parallel facility is only available on the G2 inverter which was released earlier this year (as well as the H3, KH series), the earlier generation of H series does not support parallel operation.

Re: Examples of changing discharge current on KH inverters
brill thanks Dave! one small comment - You talk about changing "charge current", my use case is to prevent EV charging from draining the battery so don't you mean "discharge current" ? It's one of the great wonders of Fox, if you set the inverter to Force Charge but then limit t...

Re: Installation without meter
Yes you can use the Chint DTSU666 (-CT) which comes with 3 CT clamps This for a Solax inverter (essentially the same thing) dtsct.jpg Just to double check your point about the generation meter, there is still a (bonkers) requirement to fit an MID/OfGem approved generation meter (Emlite) with older i...

Re: Examples of changing discharge current on KH inverters
My plan is to connect the K series inverter via the RS485 A/B connector to the same A/B bus which feeds the EW11 wifi adapter/Eastron SDM120M (I assume this is ok as I have set the modbus ID on the SDM120M to "100" and the modbus.yaml uses "slave: 100" for all of the entities. A...

Re: Fox ESS battery
That's a solar only inverter, you have 2 options. The easiest would be to upgrade to a hybrid (H series) and replace the S series altogether - the hybrid will take your PV string feeds and connect to a battery blending both to power your home, charge your batteries, export to grid etc... as desired....

Re: Installation without meter
Hi, we are due to be carrying out our first hybrid inverter and battery storage installation next week and will be using a Fox H3 5.0 along with a Fox EP5. We have installed solar PV on a number of projects and always wired/connected a CT from the inverter. The main DB for the property is in a cupb...

Re: Extra batteries added - Weird charging/discharging stats
When you added the extra batteries, did you ensure that the existing stack was at 50% SoC ? Have you updated the battery firmware so that all versions are the same ? If either of those haven't been done the batteries will perform exactly as you say, badly, and depending on the state of charge of you...

Re: Hybrid KH10 High self consumption
I’m not sure how you are measuring self consumption, don’t forget there are losses involved when converting PV generation DC into AC and in the MPPT’s, the losses when putting power into the batteries, and recovering it later all of which will take their toll. There’s a good diagram here which shows...

Re: Overnight battery charging
sorry what is EPS back up? EPS is 'Emergency Power Supply' - the inverter has the option to fail over to an emergency supply when the grid fails, but there are strict usage requirements about it so you have to have a changeover switch (and usually an earth rod) fitted. If it is something you want t...

Fabulous, found that! I am prompted for a password when trying to access the scheduler… is there a standard password or will it be buried somewhere in the inverter settings menu? In all honesty i've never known it to ask for a password when you click that but I do have an agent account so maybe it'...

Fox don’t publish release notes currently, we have asked them to and they have said they need to consider what form it will take, but as yet there is no further information. The most significant addition I am aware of in this H3 release is the ability to add a grid compensation setting that allows t...

Re: Parallel issue on 2 systems
I can't help with the second problem as i've never come across the EMS, you'll need Fox for that. Typically though with inverters in parallel you must connect them from Parallel 1 (Master) to Parallel 2 (Next Slave) it won't work if you go P1 to P1, obviously set the dip switches on the Master and l...
